Midwife club

What is the Midwife Club?

The Midwife Club is a table with activities and a relaxation and play zone for children and babies, often with relaxing music. The purpose is to explore and learn about pregnancy, childbirth, babies, breastfeeding, human body and more in a safe environment in a positive, playful and child-led way.

How does it work?

Children learn through exploration of prompts and materials, play, asking questions, joining art and craft activities any time they wish to. Parents are expected to help children with all activities as I am normally also chasing my own children around and not present at the table at all times. Feel free to approach me at any time if you need assistance or have questions.

Midwifery Clinic

The Midwife Club is also for all women (and their partners) who are planning a baby, are pregnant or have had a baby recently. You can come and have an informal chat about any childbearing related topic, family planning, woman’s health, breastfeeding and more. You can also have an antenatal or postnatal check-up with me in my mini clinic.

How much does it cost?

The club is sponsored by myself and is free to attend for all home educating families who come to Curious Minds on Fridays. Donations are welcome to help cover the cost of running the club. You can donate to the red donations box on the day or via paypal.me/midwifeclub

09/06/23 Cakes and other bakes to celebrate my birthday. Baby dolls and prams, doll family and midwife play set, relaxation area with music, birth and baby colour-in books.

16/06/23 Summer fun! Bubble bath for dolls by the paddling pool. Teddy bear sewing project at the main craft table.

23/06/23 Immersive experience of life before birth – womb to hide in and relax on placenta pillow, wrapped in amniotic blanket, listening to womb sounds. Refreshing baby waters immersion in outside paddling pool 🙂
